Ally Pally Knit + Stitch: book by 27 Sept or pay £29.50

The Knitting and Stitching Show is back at Alexandra Palace from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 October 2026, and the first thing to know is that it has a different name. It is now Knit + Stitch, so if you are searching the old name you may not find the tickets.

The second thing is the date on the price. Advance pricing holds until Sunday 27 September. After that every ticket goes up, and the box office on the day is the dearest way in.

Opening times

Sunday shuts an hour earlier than the other three days (Knit + Stitch).

What a ticket actually costs

These are the show’s own published prices. A £4.25 transaction fee applies per order, not per ticket, so the more tickets on one booking the less it matters.

General release, on sale until 27 September

• Adult day ticket £20.95 plus the order fee
• Concession, meaning students, disabled visitors and anyone 65 or over, £18.50
• Child, 18 and under, £9.00
• Afternoon ticket, entry from 2pm, adult or concession £15.50
• Two-day ticket, adult or concession, £34.00, and these are limited to the general release window

Final release, from 28 September

• Adult £23.95, concession £21.50, child £9.50, afternoon £18.00
• The two-day ticket disappears

On the door, bought at the box office during the show

• Adult £29.50, concession £27.00, child £10.00, afternoon £24.00
• No transaction fee is charged on these

So an adult who walks up on the Saturday pays £8.55 more than one who booked in the general release window. The picture is completely different for children: a child ticket at the door is £10.00 against a £9.00 advance base, a difference of a pound, and if you were buying that child ticket on its own the £4.25 order fee would make advance booking the more expensive option.

Groups of ten or more pay £14 an adult and £7.50 a child, plus fees, and the group leader gets in free. That is a third off the adult walk-up price.

Carer tickets are free. If you have a registered disability you can add one to your basket when you book, or collect it at the box office on arrival.

VIP packages are Bronze £44, Silver £84 and Gold £96, plus the order fee. All three give priority entry, the VIP cloakroom, workshop discounts and a tote bag. Silver and Gold add a lunch voucher, a glass of Prosecco and lounge access in the Londesborough Room from 9.30am, though the show floor itself does not open to them until 10am either.

Knitting and Crochet Guild members, and anyone who spots the code, can take £2 off a standard adult or concession advance ticket with KACGUILD26. The Guild states the code is not valid for Saturday 10 October.

Two numbers that do not agree

Alexandra Palace’s own listing for the show advertises “over 300 specialist craft suppliers” and tickets “from £15.50”. The show’s own site says over 150 specialist craft suppliers on one part of the ticket page and “over 200 exhibitors” on another, and the £15.50 is the afternoon ticket base price, not a general admission price.

The Palace listing also says children aged 5 to 17 need a child ticket and under-5s go free. The show’s own price page defines a child as 18 and under and says nothing about under-5s. Where the two differ, the show sells the tickets, so its page is the one to trust.

The halls, and getting round them

The show occupies the Great Hall, the West Hall and the Panorama Room, all on one level and all accessible to wheelchair users. The entrance has steps, with a ramp to the left of it. Aisles are kept to a minimum of three metres.

A small number of workshops run upstairs near the Organisers Office, and there is no lift to that floor. The show says this is stated in the description of the affected classes, so check before booking one.

Wheelchairs can be loaned from the venue, limited in number and first come first served, booked in advance through the show’s form or on 0208 365 2121, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Visitors with a disability can ask front of house for fast track entry.

Parking and travel

This is an indoor event, so the car parks stay open. Alexandra Palace only closes them for outdoor events, which is why the fireworks in November is a different proposition. The Palace charges free for the first 30 minutes then £2.20 an hour, cashless, with Blue Badge holders exempt if they scan the badge at the machine.

The show says Blue Badge parking is free in the East Court car park at the back of the building, with 25 spaces on a first come first served basis. Marshals issue the exemption ticket from the machine. There is an accessible buggy along the south terrace from the East car park to the entrance, and shuttle buses run between the other car parks, which matters because the outer ones are a long walk uphill.

By train, Alexandra Palace station on the Great Northern line runs direct from Moorgate and King’s Cross and sits at the Wood Green gate of the park. Wood Green on the Piccadilly line is the nearest Tube. Check the Crouch End roadworks and travel page before you set off, and parking in Crouch End if you are leaving the car this side of the hill and walking through the park.

The show is organised by Immediate Live, not by Alexandra Palace. The venue address is Alexandra Palace Way, Wood Green, London N22 7AY.

It is the first of the Palace’s big autumn and winter draws. The fireworks and drone festival follows on 7 and 8 November, then the Christmas ice rink and theatre run, and the World Darts Championship takes the Great Hall from 11 December.
