The first confirmed Christmas market in Crouch End this year is the Muswell Hill Creatives Winter Makers Market at Hornsey Town Hall on Saturday 5 December 2026. Highgate starts earlier, with two weekends of designer-maker fairs from 20 November, and Lauderdale House has an artisan market on 12 and 13 December. Here is every date the organisers have published, and the ones still to come.

Muswell Hill Creatives at Hornsey Town Hall, 5 December
The Muswell Hill makers’ collective is holding its winter market in Crouch End this year. Its events page lists the Winter Makers Market at Hornsey Town Hall on Saturday 5 December 2026, 11.30am to 5pm. Guest trader applications close at midday on Friday 9 October, so the stall list will follow after that.
The same group is at the town hall earlier, for its Make and Mend Festival on Saturday 17 October, 11am to 5pm, and holds an autumn fair in St James Square, Muswell Hill, on Saturday 26 September.
Last year its winter fair was outdoors in St James Square, Muswell Hill, on Saturday 22 November 2025, according to Haringey Council’s events listing at the time.
Handmade In Highgate, two weekends in November
Handmade In Highgate opens the normally closed Highgate Literary and Scientific Institution on South Grove for two back-to-back winter fairs. The organiser’s 2026 dates page gives 20 to 22 November and 27 to 29 November, each opening with a Friday evening from 5pm to 8pm, then Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Entrance is free, and each weekend has a different set of makers, so the two are not repeats.
Duck Pond Market at Lauderdale House, 12 and 13 December
Duck Pond Market runs quarterly markets in Lauderdale House, the 15th-century house in Waterlow Park at the bottom of Highgate High Street. Its Highgate page lists the Christmas market on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December 2026, 11am to 5pm. The stalls are local artists, crafters, food producers and vintage sellers.
Still to be announced
- Crouch End Festival Christmas tree day. Last year’s was on Saturday 6 December 2025 inside Hornsey Town Hall, with a craft market of over 40 stalls, and the tree was lit at 6pm. No 2026 date is out; our Christmas lights switch-on page has the detail and will carry the date when it lands.
- Wood Green Winter Market. Wood Green BID ran it on Lymington Avenue every Saturday from 15 November to 20 December 2025, 11am to 5pm, free, according to the council’s listing last year. Wood Green BID has not published 2026 dates.
- OmVed Gardens Festive Market. The Highgate gardens (N6 5JF) held one on Saturday 13 December 2025, 11am to 3pm, free (Haringey Council, archived). OmVed’s own events list has festive workshops in late November 2026 but no market date yet.
Santa’s grottos
Two local grottos have published details, neither with firm 2026 dates.
- Alexandra Palace Garden Centre on Alexandra Palace Way runs “Meet Santa (Bring Your Dog!)”. Its booking page lists a child ticket at £10 including a gift, dogs at £6, adults free, with bookings closing 12 hours before a visit and walk-ins possible. It does not yet show which December days are running.
- Alexandra Palace’s East Court has a Santa’s Grotto on the palace’s Christmas page, but the top of that page still describes last Christmas, as our Ally Pally Christmas report explains. Treat it as unconfirmed until dates and prices appear.
At last year’s Crouch End Festival tree day there was also a Mr and Mrs Santa Claus and an Ice Queen grotto inside Hornsey Town Hall.
Getting there
Hornsey Town Hall is on Crouch End Broadway. Crouch End’s controlled parking zones run for only two hours a day, and our parking page has the times for each half. Our roadworks page has the 17-week Nelson Road closure from 30 September, which will still be in place in December.
